Welcome to the 4th of July week in Southern California. Friday, July 4th, 2025, will be a fireworks bonanza…from Long Beach to San Clemente, there are a ton of events for you to enjoy in Southern California.
I created a list below just in case you need those last-minute ideas of what to do.
Fireworks in Long Beach are illegal, so watching them at the various locations below is the best way to enjoy Independence Day.
July 3rd Events
Our first event of the celebration on July 3rd, over at the Alamitos Bay Marina area of the Boathouse on the Bay, Malarkays and Ballast Point Brewery//.it is called “Big Bang on the Bay“. This is an annual event with vintage aircraft flyovers, skydivers, sailing regattas, music, and more. The event starts at 5:30 and goes until 9:30 pm at 190 Marina Drive in Long Beach.

Big Bang on the Bay, July 3rd, 2025
For residents, some of the best places to view Big Bang on the Bay are at the end of the Peninsula neighborhood on Ocean Blvd. At the end of the street is Alamitos Park, and you can watch from there.
- Go to Bay Shore and relax on the sand of the bay and watch the fireworks show over Naples Island.
- You could go to the Marine area over by Joe’s Crab Shack in Long Beach to view the fireworks show.
- Or the Long Beach Yacht Club area at the end of Appian Way in Naples.
If you live in Seal Beach or want to view the fireworks from there, I would suggest the beach near the Jetty, around 1st Street. I’m just going to take a walk down Ocean Blvd toward Bay Shore….that’s about a mile. If I walk to the end of Ocean Blvd, that’s 2 miles one way, yikes.
There is a cool community in Seal Beach called River Beach Townhomes on the jetty with a little water view and probably a great viewing location for the residents there. One of the benefits of living in River Beach is you get to watch the fireworks every year from the backyard or your balcony…just sayin’
Everyone celebrates differently. Some people have family parties, light off fireworks in front of the house, and other people go to the beach.
It’s a time to celebrate our country’s Independence Day.

Long Beach July 4th, 2025 Independence Day Events
1.) Take a Long Beach July 4th Cruise? Check out the VIP Perks you get for $199 – $229. Where to get tickets? Tickets. Parking? Aquarium of the Pacific Parking Structure at 200 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, or 95 S. Pine Avenue.
The Yacht is located at Harbour Dock 6A.
2.) Justin Rudd’s 4th of July Kids Bike Parade – The Great American 4th of July kids bike parade will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am. All ages bike parade. Kid’s bike events take place at 1 Granada Ave., Long Beach, CA 90803.
- At 9:40 am, there is a patriotic speech contest for kids
- At 9:50 am, there is a costume contest for kids

3.) Waterfront Fireworks in downtown Long Beach start at 9 pm on July 4th. The city will be celebrating in style in Queensway Bay with a July 4th fireworks spectacular celebration of freedom. You could go to Rainbow Harbor and set up your chair or watch from the beach near the marina in downtown Long Beach. More Information
4.) Long Beach 4th of July Premier Dinner Cruise – a 3-hour cruise with dining and a live DJ. View this link for more details.
5.) Aquarium of the Pacific BBQ Event on July 4th, 2025 – it starts at noon. View their website for details.
6.) Queen Mary 4th of July Celebration – kind of all-day event for you. Queen Mary Fireworks Events.

I’m just going to take a walk down to Ocean Blvd and go out on the beach. At 9 pm, there is a Fireworks show in Downtown Long Beach that you can watch, or look south to watch fireworks shows along the coastline.

Huntington Beach Fireworks Events
Huntington Beach is having a 4th of July Celebration – Located in downtown Huntington Beach at 200 Main Street. They have to celebrate from July 2nd to July 4th, 2025. July 2nd is a special Pier Plaza Festival activity with vendors, food trucks, maybe a beer garden, live entertainment, music, and more. From 10 am to 9 pm
They are expecting over 500,000 visitors for the parade in HHuntngton Beach on July 4th, 2025.
Huntington Beach Parade is on July 4th, 2025, at 10:00 am at Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway in downtown Huntington Beach, California.
+ Get to Main Street early to find a place to sit. They expect over 100 groups in the parade, and thousands attend.
+ HINT: (See if you can reserve a table at one of the restaurants on Main Street and have brunch while enjoying the parade.)
- Huntington Beach Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast on July 4th – yummy time. Tickets are $10.00. Visit the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast next. The event is at Lake Park in Huntington Beach from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.

Newport Beach: Happy 4th of July 2025 Events
- The Old Glory Boat Parade is from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm in Newport Harbor. Get ready for a big boat parade. Details.
- Festive Day on the Back Bay – located at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina, July 4th, 2025, is going to be awesome!!! Food trucks, live music, water sports, boat rentals, and a fireworks show. Newport Dunes events.
- Independence Day on the Back Bay in Newport Beach. At 1131 Back Bay Drive. This event starts from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. Live music and fun.
- July 4th Weekend Pub Crawl Experience – a ticketed event from Eventbrite.
- Tropical Booze Cruise – Party in Newport Beach in a tiki boat style.

Laguna Beach 4th of July Fireworks Show
Celebrate the Fourth in Laguna Beach, California. The fireworks show will be from Monument Point at Heisler Park at 9:00 pm. City website details for you.
Dana Point: 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza 2025 at Doheny Beach. Dana Point Fireworks start at 9:00 pm. Doheny State Beach is located at 25300 Dana Point Harbor, Dana Point, CA. Review all city events on the Visit Dana Point website.
San Clemente Fireworks
San Clemente: Marine & Families 4th of July Celebration. 9 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

- Fireworks Show at the San Clemente Municipal Pier at 9 pm; Suggest getting there about 8 pm.
Continuing an annual tradition, beachgoers can enjoy a flyover by the Condor Squadron, consisting of four AT-6 aircraft, World War II trainers, along the participating coastal cities.
The flyover will begin in Huntington Beach and conclude in San Clemente, where it will fly over the coast and conduct a 360 in the air, making two passes through each city.
The full flyover schedule is as follows:
- Dana Point. 5:50 p.m.
- San Clemente, 6:00 p.m.
Note: Fireworks are prohibited in San Clemente.

- Give them a safe place to hide inside
- Keep your pets secured inside your home
- Use the TV or music during the fireworks time inside the home to mask the noise
