Take this day to honor past and present service man for their heroic efforts to keep our country free. To make the USA a great place to live.
My dad, Joe Valento, was a veteran of World War 2 and served as the radio man and ship’s barber on the USS Walke. His ship was torpedo and he dove into the ocean…he was in the water for a few days with fellow shipmates before another ship came by to pick them up. He had many great stories to tell over the years. One thing I liked best about him is that he had a giving heart. He really cared for others and did his best in his life for his family. He passed away in June 2008 at the age of 91.
I would like to wish all serviceman a Happy Veterans Day. Keep the spirit of our great nation alive in your hearts and mind. Pray for the USA, the service men and women around the world that are in our armed forces that God would protect them, give them wisdom and keep them safe. Pray for your local leaders, state leaders, governors and our current and future president. Our country needs to pray daily to God.
May God Bless the USA.
