It’s that time of year again where we as a country celebrate our indepence on July 4th, 2012. And Huntington Beach is the best place to be on this day…we are going to celebrate better than any other city in Southern California.
Fun Huntington Beach July 4th 2012 Activities for You
Wow, 108 years of this celebration in Huntington Beach…imagine that….I haven’t been around that long yet. But I’m sure Wednesday July 4th is going to be a lot of fun. You can join me as we go to Lake Park for the famous “Lake Park Pancake Breakfast” 6:30am – 11:00am Tickets are $5.00. Then, we can put on our running shoes and get ready for the Surf City 5K Run at 7 am to burn off the calories from breakfast.
Fitness Expo After Surf City 5k Run
Then, we are all off to the Fitness Expo between 7 am to 12 pm. Break for lunch some where in the city. Oh wait, I forgot. The 108th Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade is from 10 am to 12 pm…so let me think here. We need to run the 5k which is 3.2 miles in 30 minutes or less, then jam over to the fitness expo, grab a bit to eat and find a place to stand or sit for the parade. I think I need some coffee or a Monster drink or something healthy in between for stamina.
108th Huntington Beach Parade
Then, after the parade. Where are you going? I guess I’m going to the Pier for the “4-Day Pier Plaza Festival and Entertainment”. Then, I will need another healthy meal…may be fajitas at Freds Mexican Cafe on Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. Yeah, that’s it.
I hear over 200,000 people will be attending the events and K-Earth 101 Fm will there.
Huntington Beach Firework Show 2012
For the firework show which starts at 9 pm over the water, I’m heading out the sand early about 8:30 to find a place to watch. I know The Queen Mary has a show that starts at the same time as ours when I read our Long Beach real estate blog. So, I guess I can watch two shows at once. Maybe I can see the Long Beach show from Huntington Beach or maybe not.
4th of July Main Street Parade Route Home Decorating Contest
I just found this home contest here. If you live on Main Street between 500 Main Street to 17 the Street, you can decorate the outside of your home in several categories for the parade theme “Celebrate Huntington Beach”.
There will be prizes for
- Most Creative
- Most Patriotic Spirit
- Best in Show
- Surf City 4th of July
- Best Theme
- Judging will be on July 3rd, 2012.
See you at the fourth of July events in Huntington Beach on Wednesday.
Oh one last thing, the best places to view the fireworks from a house or condo along Pacific Coast Highway would be at these Huntington Beach real estate locations.
