Tennis Court Wisdom?

Having a tennis court in your own backyard is an amazing luxury. When you live in California, there are many homes that come with this special feature. Just a little research I found.

If you’re serious about buying a home with a tennis court, here’s what to look for:

  1. You’ll want to find the right location and make sure it has enough space. You also need to check if there is enough sunlight, so your court doesn’t get too hot or cold when the weather changes throughout the year.
  2. It’s important that you have proper drainage, so water doesn’t pool on your court during rainstorms or snow melts. And finally, be sure that there is room around the house for spectators!
  3. Tennis courts are great places to host parties and family gatherings, but they can only fit so many people comfortably! Make sure everyone will have a place to sit before signing on any dotted lines!
  4. You’ll want to closely examine the surface of the court because some surfaces only allow for play during certain times of the year. Tennis courts are typically surfaced with either grass or asphalt, but other surfaces are also available.
  5. Tennis courts should be installed on level ground to reduce the risk of injury and improve playing conditions. The slope should not exceed 1 in 50 because that causes an uneven bounce in the court balls.
  6. If you’re going to build your own tennis court, it’s important that you hire a professional. Tennis courts must meet certain standards and codes, which only a contractor with the proper expertise will understand.

The most important thing is the quality of the surface. You want it to be smooth and consistent, so your game doesn’t suffer. Next, look at how much space there is between the fence and the net posts. This will determine if you can hit any angles or lobs over them easily.

Finally, make sure there’s enough room on either side of the net post for players to stand when they’re waiting their turn during doubles matches! It’s also nice if there’s some shade from trees or an umbrella nearby so players don’t get sunburned while playing!
